Q: Where and when will the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship be played?

A: The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will be played in Tampere and Helsinki from 13 to 29 May 2022.

Q: Where will team Finland play their games?

A: Team Finland will play all its games in Tampere, in the new Tampere Deck Arena.

Q: What is the Ticket Draw Contest about?

A: In the Contest, day tickets for the games played in Tampere will be drawn, in other words, the right to purchase tickets can be won. An entrant may enter the draw for each desired game day and win the opportunity to purchase tickets for several days. Entrants may choose one price category per game day and the number of tickets for the game day in question. The opportunity to purchase is up to six (6) ticket packages per game day. An entrant who wins the opportunity to purchase ticket packages and who decides to reclaim the tickets for a certain game day must reclaim all tickets of the said day applied in connection with the Contest.

Example: Person X enters the Contest and wants four tickets for the game day of Friday, 20 May 2022. Person X wins the opportunity to purchase the said tickets. After that, they may reclaim four or zero tickets for the game day in question.

The Contest has three phases, and by entering the Contest, the entrant may

  1. win an opportunity to purchase tickets for the desired game day and price category
  2. win an opportunity to purchase tickets for some other game day or price category than what were applied for
  3. receive an option to purchase unsold tickets after the tickets in items a) and b) have been reclaimed or not.

Entrants will be divided into different draw baskets according to how many tickets (1–6) an entrant states that they will purchase in the entry form. The Contest is conducted so that it is possible to gain the opportunity to purchase tickets from all draw baskets for the game days applied in connection with the participation in the Contest. The Organizer reserves the right to determine the number of tickets in the draw baskets.

Q: Why will only tickets for games played in Tampere be sold through the Contest?

A: Demand for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship tickets is expected to be very high, especially for team Finland’s games. In order for everyone to have an equal opportunity to receive tickets at different prices, it will be possible to buy day tickets for the games played in Tampere through the draw, from the preliminary rounds to the finals.

Tickets for the games to be played in Helsinki will go on sale on 2 September 2021.

Q: How many games can I watch with one day ticket?

A: You can watch 2–3 games with one day ticket, depending on the day. The games of the day can be found in the game schedule, which will be published in early autumn.

Q: Who can participate in the Ticket Draw Contest?

A: Anyone over the age of 18 can participate in the Contest. You can also participate in the Contest from abroad.

Q: When can I take part in the Contest and when will it take place?

A: You can enter the Contest between 2 and 26 September 2021 at 23.59 (UTC+2).

The draw will take place on 27 September 2021.

Q: How many times can I participate in the Ticket Draw Contest?

A: You can only participate in the draw once.

Q: What are my chances of winning the right to purchase tickets?

A: The chance of winning depends on the number of people taking part in the draw and how many game days you choose when filling out the entry form. The more game days you choose, the greater your chance of winning the right to purchase tickets.

Q: How will I be notified if I have won the right to purchase?

A: An email will be sent to everyone who has won the right to purchase in the draw, with more detailed purchase instructions.

Q: Can I choose the seats?

A: Yes. Each winner of the draw will be able to choose their own seats from the seats available on the seat map, according to the ticket price category.

Q: What payment methods are available?

A: The ticketing store uses a variety of payment options

Q: How and when will I receive the tickets?

A: After you have paid for the tickets, they will be delivered to you at the email address with which you have logged in to the ticketing online store.

Q: Will there be any additional charges?

Q: Can I win the opportunity to purchase individual tickets through the Ticket Draw Contest?

A: No. It is possible to win the right to purchase only day tickets for games played in Tampere through the draw. Individual tickets will not go on sale until the beginning of 2022 for those games for which there are tickets left.

Q: Can I win the right to purchase a wheelchair seat through the Contest?

A: Yes, you can. Your escort will be admitted with the same ticket to see the games of the day.

Q: If I don’t win the draw, do I have the opportunity to buy tickets to team Finland’s games?

A: All tickets to team Finland’s games will primarily be sold through the Contest. If there are tickets not redeemed through the draw, it will be possible to buy them when the official ticket sales start. Tickets may also be released at a later date before the games when the numbers for the various ticket quotas are confirmed.

Q: Can I return or exchange tickets?

A: Tickets cannot be exchanged or returned.

Q: If games cannot be played due to the coronavirus, will the money be refunded?

A: If spectators cannot be admitted to the games due to the coronavirus pandemic, then the money will be returned to those who bought tickets.

Q: Are all the cheap tickets included in the draw?

A: Yes, the ticket draw also includes all the cheapest tickets for games played in Tampere. Tickets for the games to be played in Helsinki will go on sale on 2 September 2021.

Q: What are the ticket options for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship?

A: There will be a wide price range, with several game and seating section categories in use that will be announced in 31st of August.
